The TEAM Companies, LLC (“TTC”) celebrates its unique diversity, equity and inclusion by recognizing and honoring the new U.S. federal holiday Juneteenth National Independence Day.
On June 17, 2021, Juneteenth became a national holiday to be recognized each year on June 19th, and TTC will recognize it by offering its employees a paid holiday on this day going forward each year.
TTC has a long history of diversity, equity and inclusion in its staff with over 51% minorities, and the vast majority of its workforce are women.
Juneteenth marks the day when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, in 1865 to ensure that all enslaved people would be free, a full two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. It is the oldest celebrated African American holiday and TTC is proud to make it an official holiday on its business calendar.
Therefore, beginning in 2022 TTC will close all its offices in recognition of this day, including its Toronto office.
Happy Juneteenth!
